Awbrey Glen Flagstone Entry and Raised Patio

An interior designer meets a landscape designer in this design for the great community of Aubrey Glen.  The homeowner, an interior designer by trade, wanted to make a beautiful welcoming welcoming mat and a backyard patio that showed her personal aesthetics and design style.  Before the design, she had a front entry with small, drab stairs and an unusable space that was meant to be a welcoming front porch.  We changed the entry and made a sense of welcome and a front porch by raising the level of the flagstone floor to the  door and moving the stairs off of the porch out into the landscape.  We also changed the unsafe back deck and created a raised flagstone patio that complimented the front entry to create cohesion between the front and back so that the house has a sense of place.
